I have two YouTube channels where I post all my videos. The Dust Devil channel is where I upload all of my off-road, desert adventure videos. Everything else gets posted on my original channel, Hungry Knife.
Flashback 2004: Of all the videos I’ve ever posted anywhere, this one is by far the most popular. For a seldom seen desert rat like myself, popularity is measured in fairly small numbers. I’ve never had anything ‘go viral’ in twenty years of posting videos. Mostly because I’m a chronically lazy director.
I’m OK at post production and a natural born editor but this shitty piece of turd was shot on a two megapixel pocket cam from 2003.
Infamous murder cults are great for boosting social media stats, even in low resolution π
This photo was submitted by ‘A.I.’, who stayed here at the Hungry Knife House awhile back. We co authored and produced the official International Dumpster Divers Union zine so he’s like, a poobah level union member.
Checkit: He recently got this totally killer, hand poked IDDU tattoo π
The photos originated from the tattoo artists website where you can view other hand poked tattoo images.
Where we live in Arizona City, AZ you can also find these little dudes; Burrowing Owls. They make burrows on empty lots in the neighborhood or anywhere flat and dirty. Their favorite food is dung beetle so they collect dry animal turds to scatter around their berm. This lures the beetles to their door so it’s a bit like ordering-in delivery dinner π
There are cameras everywhere, now. It wasn’t that way not so long ago.
I can ride my motorcycle alone into the desert until cell reception dies and it almost feels like back in the day, when nobody was watching …if not for all those satellites.
We went WAY out on βthe rezβ today. There were wild burros and horses everywhere. This healthy looking herd of burros was loitering by the roadside. Check out the video clip β
Later down the road our tire went flat and we discovered our jack was worthless. A massive native american (6β² 3β³ tall) named Roy showed up with a Hi-Lift, jacked our Jeep and helped with the tire change, blammo. Roy is awesome 😀
Winter is almost here. It can get surprisingly cold in the desert (but not as cold as everywhere else). π Here’s a nifty, animated GIF to enjoy while you shiver.
Decades of scratching these lines into everything and I just discovered they are properly called, “tally marks”.
